2015 Favorites: Beauty

Hello this is the part of the year where I reflect on all the dumb things I did! But as a horrible beauty/fashion blogger I am going to take this chance to share with you my favorites products of the this year! Because lets be real, its 2015 we are all MATERIALISTIC AF 

Okay 2015 was the year I FINALLY came to terms with how ugly I am and so I did some exploring with beauty products to TRY and fix that

1. My favorite Lipstick of 2015 was the Tarte Amazonian Lip Butter in Tulip.(x) I loved this product because it looked so natural on and it was a great color AND YEA this was a nice lipstick,

2. Another favorite was Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara  (x) Being Indian comes with its blessings and curses, but long eyelashes is one of the blessings, and this mascara was like a genetically modified fruit to a farmer. It was like my eye lashes were being put on steroids. WHICH THEY BASICALLY WERE BC THIS STUFF MADE MY EYELASHES TOUCH MY EYE BROWS. SERIOUSLY I NEED TO GOOGLE WHAT IS IN THIS STUFF BC IM 70% THIS MASCARA COULD BE ILLEGAL

3. My third favorite beauty product of 2015 was the First Aid Beauty Triple Eye Remedy (x) The many sleepless nights I had during 2015 of doing absolutly nothing were cured by this product. If I pulled an all nighter watching all the hunger games movies and looked like I was on the verge of dying the next day, I would just dab some of this on my eye and it made it look like I was only kind of dying! 

4. I also loved the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in bronze (x) I wish I had some cool reason why I liked this product, but really the only reason I bought it was because Taylor Swift uses it, and do I really need any further explanation. But to be fair this is a really nice product for people like me who ARE LAZY AS HECK and want a bronzer, blush, highlight, eye shadow pallete ALL IN ONE PRODUCT. 

5. OKAY I know I am probably the last person anyone should ask for advice on hair because lets be real, mine looks like a 5 year old that won't let their mom brush their hair. Maybe 2016 will be the year I learn to control the mess that lives on top of my head. WAIT HOLD UP I need to tell a traumatic hair story that happened to me in 2015, The Monday after prom, I was so tired of having long hair so I decided to cut it all off. ON IMPULSE. NEVER EVER LET ME DO THAT EVER AGAIN, People like Taylor swift and Jennifer Lawrence can cut their hair really short, but THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT I CAN. And that is one of the most valuable lessons I learned in 2015 when I had people ask me if I was a lesbian for 4/12 months. Anyways I was going to tell you the products I like to use on my hair but I am deeply regretting talking about hair and maybe this will be a conversation we can have in 2016.

I had lots of beauty products I like and tried out in 2015 but these were my absolute favorites that I will carry with me into 2016

Urban Chic

My favorite go to look is a plaid skirt, coordinating solid top and ankle boots. It's a classic look that is still so trendy and urban. I love that you can wear this when the weather is 60 degrees, or you can slip on some tights with the outfit during the winter season. Also adding to this outfit, an item that my style usually strays away from, is the floppy hat. Floppy hats are very trendy and bohemian something I love incorporating into my classic and vintage style.

MEETING MY MOTHER TAYLOR SWIFT

So many of you know that I attended one of the 1989 Secret Listening sessions in October 2014. You can read about that here! I never really explained the entire golf club situation so HERE YOU GO!  I attended the 1989 Tour in Kansas City and while Taylor was playing blank space and holding a golf club, I was yelling 'HIT ME WITH IT" because I have ABSOLUTELY no chill. ANYWAYS HERE IS THE VIDEO  if you want to watch me being insane.....SO as you can see, she saw the video of me yelling and REBLOGGED IT and then it went lowkey viral. It was on Buzzfeed, Golf Digest, Seventeen Magazine, Teen Vogue, Snapchat Discover, and multiple sports websites. I received an email a few weeks later saying that I had won tickets to the Omaha show. I was so excited! And they replied to my email saying that they had MEET AND GREETS FOR US. !!!!!!!! The day of October 9th came and I was so nervous. I figured taylor wouldn't remember me since the last time I saw her was a year ago. (ALMOST EXACTLY A YEAR AGO HOW EMO)  As I was walking to the meet and greet my friend Hannah was backstage for a tour. She comes running up to me yelling "MAYA THEY BROUGHT A GOLF CLUB BACKSTAGE, THERE IS A GOLF CLUB IN THE MEET AND GREET ROOM"...PAUSE.....THIS MOMENT WAS THE MOMENT I KNEW I WAS NOT GOING TO EVER SEE THE SUN AGAIN. I AM A CORPSE BECAUSE OF THIS VERY MOMENT IN TIME. .... I walk into the meet and greet room and Taylor's manager was there and goes "are you hit me in the face girl?" and I was like *laughs nervously* THE MOMENT OF TRUTH. The curtain opens and standing there is Taylor, the queen herself in a black and white lace jumpsuit. Standing like 200 feet above me in her 6inch Prada pumps (heavy breathing). THIS IS THE BEST PART. She was standing there WITH A GOLF CLUB AND GOES "LETS DO THIS MAYA" SUDDENLY I FELT MY SOUL LEAVE MY BODY. I run up to her (let me remind you oxygen was limited in my system at this time) and I gave her THE BIGGEST HUG and she goes "MAYA I MISSED YOU SO MUCH"and I didn't know what to say because I simply COULD NOT believe that she remembered me and knew my name and so I  just yelled "NOOO" IN HER FACE. And then she laughed at me and told me that we were going to take the most EPIC MEET AND GREET PICTURE OF ALL TIME. And she told me were to stand and how to pose and WHEN TAYLOR SWIFT TELL YOU WHAT TO DO YOU JUST DO IT. She told me to act like I'm screaming but I couldn't stop smiling so I'm all :D After we took the most iconic photo to ever exist she was about to put the golf club down and FOR SOME REASON????MY DUMBASS BLURTS OUT "wait taylor can you actually hit me with the golf club" and all of her team members were standing there like WHO IS THIS GIRL??? WHY IS SHE HERE? SHOULD WE CALL SECURITY? but taylor, my literal mother that understands everything about me understood that I was JOKING and so she laughed at me and walked over with the golf club and tapped it to my head, And so yes. I am the only person to ever walk this earth that can say that I have been hit in the face with a golf club by taylor swift. After the photo her manager tried to rush us out of the room but I was like HOLD UP and just started talking to taylor. And I was like "taylor I am a senior now and I have listen to your music since I was in elementary school" and she was like "AWWWWW SINCE YOU WERE A LITTLE BABBBYYYY" AND I WAS LIKE ASDFGHJKL and I told her that I felt like we grew up together and THEN AND THEN!!!THIS LADY GRABS MY HANDS AND LOOKS AT ME DEAD IN THE EYE AND GOES "Maya you look really pretty right now" AND I WAS JUST STARING AT HER AS ALL MY INTERNAL BODY ORGANS SHUT DOWN. I was just like "NOOOO YOU LOOK SO PRETTY" and ANYWAYS THATS THE STORY OF HOW TAYLOR SWIFT STOPPED ME MID SENTENCE TO CALL ME PRETTY ????????????? So after my internal body organs shut down, she decided to kill the rest of me. She was like "I don't know if you know this, which you probably do since I like your posts ALL the time,  but you have the most incredible, witty, outrageous sense of humor" and I was honestly a corpse at this point so I just stood there and she KEPT GOING she was like "You have the most AMAZING sense of humor because like it is so crazy but you are not actually like a crazy person!" and I was like "So I'm a cool crazy" and she was like "YES it is incredible please never change. She then told me that before her and her dancers go onstage for bad blood they all act like they are fighting and yell "HIT ME WITH IT" and I was just standing there like WHAT.....HAVE ....I..... DONE......Then her manager was looking at us like she was going to kill me and so I knew that was my queue to skedaddle. I gave her another hug and was like "TAYLOR I LOVE YOU" and she was like "I LOVE YOU SO MUCH"and I just told her I loved her again and she laughed and told me that she looks forward to seeing our picture on tumblr tonight because she had BEEN DAYDREAMING ABOUT TAKING THAT PHOTO ALL DAY!!!!  And I told her she would DEFIANTLY see it on tumblr tonight and she laughed and I told her I LOVED HER AGAIN. AND SHE SAID SHE LOVED ME AGAIN AND BASICALLY WE ARE MARRIED. After the concert I posted the picture and she GOES ONTO MY BLOG...LIKE THIS LADY SEARCHED MY BLOG NAME BC SHE KNEW IT OFF THE TOP OF HER HEAD????/ AND REBLOGS THE PICTURE OF US AND GOES "HIT ME WITH IT #DO THAT TO MY FACE" me: was  honestly gone at this point. SO the next day was the 2nd night of the 1989 tour omaha and I was going with my sister to have a nice time and sit and enjoy the show. I was having a good time in the bstage pit GOING OFF to all the songs, dancing, having A GOOD TIME. AND THEN taylor decided that she didn't ATTACK me enough last night so she needed to take a WACK AT ME AGAIN and so during out of the woods she noticed I was in the crowd and bends over and GIVES ME THE BIGGEST SMILE. i COULD NOT BELIEVE SHE SAW ME OUT OF A CROWD OF 13,000 PEOPLE????/And I literally FALL to the ground. and she starts laughing and then goes to the other side of the stage. My sister was trying to lift me off the ground and THEN SHE COMES BACK OVER TO ME....STOPS SINGING.....AND mouths "HIT ME IN THE FACE" and honestly I I blacked out. I have no memory of the proceeding events.

AFTER the show I made a post about it AND TAYLOR SWIFT DECIDED TO SEARCH MY BLOG AGAIN BECAUSE SHE KNOWS IT OFF THE TOP OF HER HEAD AIOFJSR;LKV  AND SHE SAW MY POST AND LIKED IT.

Fall Fancy

I took my senior pictures with the lovely and talented Emma York while wearing the most perfect purple dress from my favorite store Ruche. I absolutely love this dress because you can wear it with tights, boots and a cardigan and it is the perfect fall outfit, or you can throw on a pair of heels and suddenly it is the perfect dress for an elegant evening.

Recent Favorite High End Beauty Products

My new obsession is makeup. I was always okay with a little under eye concealer and a flick of mascara, and then out the door. But then I discovered that you can put glitter on your face and ever since then I have loved makeup. I love going for the "WOW LOOK AT THIS SHIMMERY GLOWING FAIRY, BUT WHOA IT LOOKS SO NATURAL??? IS SHE NATURALLY SPARKLY" look. I use alot of drugstore products, but these are my recent favorite high end products that I splurged on...AND I AM SO GLAD I DID BC NATURAL SPARKLE FAIRY LOOKS! 

1. Too Faced-Better than Sex Mascara As Taylor Swift once said "I know the name of this mascara is RIDICULOUS, But it is seriously the BEST mascara ever." I know that I am honestly the most dramatic person to ever walk the planet, BUT THIS MASCARA IS HONESTLY?? MAGICAL. LIKE EYELASHES TOUCHING YOUR EYEBROW LENGTHENING. Anyways this is the best mascara to ever exist and if you aren't using it than you should rethink all of your life choices. 

2. Tarte- Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush (in shade "Fearless") Yes this is a ridiculously bright blush, and yes the reason I got that particular shade is because its name is "fearless" and I am in love with Taylor Swift. Anyways this is my favorite blush and I want it in every.single.shade.

3. Nars-Velvet Matte Lip Pencil- Dolce Vita I love lip colors that look like you aren't wearing any lipstick, but at the same time you are wearing lipstick. This is the perfect lip pencil for a naturally looking pink lip!

4. Bobbi Brown- Shimmer Brick- Bronze This is the best everyday product. 99.999% of the time I don't feel like putting on bronzer, blush and highlighter. THIS MAGICAL BOX!!! Has it ALL!!!! just one swipe and you have a bronzy shimmery glow.

5. Tarte- Amazonian Butter Lipstick- Tulip Like the Nars Dolce Vita, this is a very naturally looking pink lip color. I like this one when I want a glossy/moisturizing lip product, and I use the Nars one when I want a matte look.

6. Benefit Cosmetics- Gimme Brow- Medium/Dark This is another one of those magical products. It is a super quick and easy brow tint gel. The only negative thing about this product is that it doesn't shape the brows very well. So when I want some hella eyebrows, I usually use a pencil and then fill them in with gimme brow.

7. Lorac- Unzipped Palette I love natural/shimmery eye shadows. I think this is the perfect palette for natural shimmery eyes! It has great pigmentation and has beautiful soft and shimmery colors!
