BOPPIEST BOPS OF ALL BOPS

Here is  a pic of me as a child, probably listening to What Dreams are Made Of by Disney Channel star Hilary Clinton, my first fav bop.

Bop

Adjective

Adjective:  A song, usually a pop anthem. Makes everyone want to scream and dance the second they hear the first beat of the song.
Example: What Makes You Beautiful by British boyband One Direction is such a bop! It makes me want to dance so hard that every single strand of hair on my head is gone and in the hands of God and Harry Styles by the end of the song.

OKAY now we know what a bop is for all the non-millennials reading this. I am so passionate about the songs I dance to, mainly because of the trauma I experienced at high school dances that only played rap music. Here is the story of how I became an official ambassador of bops. Every single high school dance I went to, we had the same DJ. This DJ was the WORST DJ TO EVER LIVE.....like him and Calcium Harris (Scottish DJ and Taylor Swift's ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris) would be great friends. Anyways the point of this information is that I have suffered. High school dances are already awkward and when you don't have any quality BOPS TO DANCE TO, the dances can be more awkward. Like it got so bad, that by senior year my friends and I were playing ping-pong with the table center pieces.

I remember junior year at a winter formal, I was sitting at a table with my friends probably discussing the evolution of Harry Style's hairline. I was bored of hearing songs like "Wop" and "Turn Down for What." My pop music loving tween heart was losing all faith in the music industry, and that is when it happened. I heard the first drumbeat in Shake it Off. I knew that this was going to be MY moment to shine. I wish there was a word for the feeling you get when you hear the first beat of your favorite song, because I AM THAT WORD. After I heard the first beat all my mind, body and soul knew to do was run to the dance floor. So that is what I did. The Taylor Swift gods pulled me to the center of the dance floor pushing past all the slightly drunk and sweaty teenagers. There I was at the center of the dance floor. The student body began forming a circle around me. Part of me was thriving off the attention. But the social anxiety part of me was begging for me to exit the primacies immediately. But I did what my religious guide and mother taught me to do, and I shook IT THE HELL OFF. I wish that every moment of every school dance could be like this, mainly because I was the center of attention, but also because I was having such a good time dancing and YA KNOW SHAKING IT OFF.

The point of this is, is that rap music might be fun to listen to, and admitting you listen to Katy Perry would ruin your rep, but YOU ARE LYING!! LYING!!!!!! TO ME when you tell me that you don't GO THE HELL OFF WHEN SHAKE IT OFF COMES ON!!!!! I KNOW YOU ARE LYING. I KNOW IT AND I SEE RIGHT THROUGH YOUR STRAIGHT WHITE BOY PERSONA. Okay I still haven't gotten to the point of this post, but the point is, even though this could be perceived as a "white girl's top 40 playlist," I have navigated the internet to find the best bops of all time, and this is my BOPPIEST POPS OF ALL BOPS playlists.

Also I am probably the only one that thinks this is the greatest playlist ever created and that is okay considering that my opinion is the only one that matters. Also YES, I do think that I could be a DJ at a high school dance....okay maybe just a middle school dance.

Also if you have any bops that aren't on the list, put them in the comments!

  1. I KNOW your ass didn't leave off One Thing and I also know your ass didn't leave off Run the World (Girls). I just know you wouldn't dare do such a thing.
