NYC WEEK 1

Hello? Is this thing still on?

I literally forgot I had a blog, but it's okay because I've lived in Iowa for the past year and my life was pretty boring, but NOW I live in NYC and have an internship at a fashion/celeb PR firm and my life is suddenly very far from boring!

Internship

Alright, so I literally intern AT THE COOLEST PLACE. Like 20 times a day, I look up and I'm just like "How....did I get this lmao?" So basically, the company I work for is a fashion PR firm and our clients send us their samples after they are debuted, and our job is to send them to magazines, celebrities, and photo shoots to gain publicity for the brands! Everyone that I work with is so lovely and hardworking! I think it's so funny that they aren't phased by the fact that they work with celebrities. I guess I'm just not used to it, but they will email me and be like "Can you pack these up and send them to Rhianna?" And I will be like..yoU WANT ME TO DO WHAT??????  I love it so much and I feel so cool knowing what celebrities are going to wear beforehand. I was on Twitter last night and saw a picture of Lorde at the Gov Ball and was just like....HEY I SAW THAT IN OUR SHOWROOM FOR HER.

But anyways, I am already learning SO much and I have only been there for 4 days so I cannot wait to see how much more I learn this Summer!

NYC

New York City is literally the weirdest place ever. Like it's disgusting, gross, and loud, but you love it so much. I think I've finally started to get the hang of the subways. (Except for yesterday when I tried to get a milkshake and couldn't find the uptown train and walked around NoLita for 2 hours) I just love living in NYC so much, and I think going back to Kansas after this summer is going to be very hard. The thing I love about NYC is that everyone is so passionate about what they are doing that it's infectious. It's just so beautiful to be around people that are so ambitious and love what they are doing.

I have always had really bad anxiety and for some reason, it's been almost non-existent while in NYC. When I first arrived, my friend was planning to pick me up from the airport and texted me that she was going to be a little late. If this would've happened 1 year ago, I probably would've started freaking out and crying, but I just remember being like w/e she will come.
